FLUFF

An Instagram face filter could be seen as the epitome of fluff - superficial, consumable, ephemeral media. I wanted to create something that pulled from the enticing vocabulary of Instagram; soft pinks, gradients, pearlescent smooth faces- while at the same time being deeply disturbing; a thousand faces screaming at you, with you, using the movement of your own face, on a viral form. This piece was created for the exhibition Fluff at Helios Fine Art in Las Vegas.
